About MUSLIM WELFARE TRUST
Muslim Welfare Trust was founded in 2012 with the goal of challenging the huge poverty and injustice prevalent in the humanity today. Inspired by the Islamic teachings of empathy, generosity and selflessness, the trust aims to alleviate poverty and suffering across the world. The rights of those who are neglected and oppressed are fulfilled by providing sustainable development solutions relating to food, water, shelter, education, health, and spiritual wellbeing. This is achieved by:
  • Providing emergency relief, such as food and medical aid, to victims of conflict and natural disasters.
  • Providing clean potable water by constructing tube wells and hand pumps and trucking water to needy areas.
  • Sponsoring orphans and widows and ensuring their rights are fulfilled.
  • Reconstructing and maintaining homes, masjids, orphanages, and schools.
  • Establishing medical and rehabilitation clinics, especially for the treatment of women and children.
  • Implementing income generation projects to help victims break their dependence on hand-out
Our Values
We remain guided by the timeless values and teachings of the Qur’an and the prophetic example (Sunnah),
  • Sincerity (Ikhlas) – In responding to poverty and suffering, our efforts are driven by sincerity to God and the need to fulfil our obligations to humanity.
  • Excellence (Ihsan) – Our actions in tackling poverty are marked by excellence in our operations and the conduct through which we help the deserving people we serve.
  • Compassion (Rahma) – We believe the protection and well-being of every life is of paramount importance and we shall join with other humanitarian actors to act as one in responding to suffering brought on by disasters, poverty and injustice.
  • Social Justice (Adl) – Our work is founded on enabling people and institutions to fulfil the rights of the poor and vulnerable. We work to empower the dispossessed towards realising their God-given human potential and develop their capabilities and resources.
  • Custodianship (Amana) – We uphold our duty of custodianship over Earth and its resources, and the trust people place in us as a humanitarian and development practitioner to be transparent and accountable.

NUTRITION AND LIFE-SAVING FOOD
No matter how big or small, your donation will make a difference.

Life-saving food in emergencies

Conflicts and disasters can have a devastating effects on families’ ability to get food, putting huge numbers of children at risk of malnutrition. When an emergency hits, MWT leads the global response, coordinating other humanitarian organisations to deliver life-saving food to where it’s needed as quickly as possible.

Last year, conflicts around the world left 350 million children in need of humanitarian aid. In Bangladesh, one of the largest crises of recent times forced hundreds of thousands of Rohingya people to flee violence in Myanmar.
